FORGIVEN...

"Forgiveness flows from a forgiven heart."

Read:
Psalm 103:8-14

Forgiveness is something we've all had to deal with. It's not easy to forgive someone who has really hurt us badly. I could imagine some of us struggles to forgive people whom we have loved, give trust, care, and hope and yet they choose to hurt us in the least we could expect them to do, after all the things we had done for them. But if some people can forgive others, why can't we? whats the reason for not giving forgiveness to those people who has done wrong to our lives?(especially the one's who ask for it). Surely if others can do it. YOU can do it. It's only a matter of choice.

Luke 17:4 says, "If he sins against you seven times a day, and seven times comes back to you and says,'I repent,' FORGIVE HIM". Forgiveness flows from forgiven heart.

I had a friend who had done some hurtful things to me, and one day I prayed, "Lord, help me to love this person and not have any bad feelings toward her. Forgive me for the times I have". I can't explain the peace and freedom God gave me after I prayed those words!

Maybe you're the one who has done something hurtful to another. If the Lord shows you that you have, do what's necessary to make things right. God will help you do it and you'll be glad you did!

When David had some unconfessed sin in his life, he said, "When I kept silent, my bones wasted away"(Psalm 32:3). Then he confessed his sins to the Lord and God forgave him. Afterward, he said, "You will...surround me with songs of deliverence" and "rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous!"

Just as the Lord forgives our sins, let's forgive others and ask for forgiveness from others. Then let's go praise the Lord!

FORGIVENESS SETS YOU FREE!

Destination Points:

  1. Is there someone I need to forgive or ask for forgiveness from? What will I do to makes things right?
  2. Is there any unconfessed sin in my life? What will I do about it?

DOES GOD REALLY CARE???

"Their groans and cries went up to God"

Read:

Exodus 1:7-13; 2:23-25

Have you ever felt that God had forgotten about you? Have you ever felt that no matter how hard you pray for your needs God does not give what you want?

I suppose His covenant people, Israel, felt that way when they didn't hear from Him.

At the beginning of the book of Exodus, we see the Israelites bent over from the back-breaking servitude of Egyptian bondage. For the first two chapters, heaven is silent. The people were being severely mistreated, and thier groans and cries went up to God.

When we feel as if God has forgotten about us in our trouble, and our pain is too deep for words, we should remind ourselves of His FAITHFULNESS. His faithful character is communicated in several ways:

  • GOD HEARS. Although He wasn't speaking during that time, He was there. God hears the deepest sigh and the unutterable sounds of agony in our hearts right now.
  • GOD REMEMBERS. When He heard Israel's groans. He remembered His covenant. Another way of saying this is that the time was right for Him to fulfill the promises He made to Abraham (Genesis 12;15;17). When God promises something, He will fulfill it in His own time!
  • GOD SEES. He sees obvious pain. I believe He also sees the pain BEHIND THE PAIN. He sees the private persecutions of your heart. He sees and His ready to respond with compassion and redemption.
  • GOD KNOWS. His knowledge of the the right timing for our prayers to be answered is more intellectual assent. It was intimate understanding. He knows when we really need something, to raise us up and redeem us, and He knows when is the time to disclose Himself to us.(Exodus 34:6-7)
God hears our groaning, underneath the servitude of sin. He remembered His love for us. He saw that we couldn't save ourselves. He knew it was time to send Someone who could enter His painful world, reveal to us the DEPTH OF HIS LOVE, and DELIVER US from the BONDAGE OF SIN.(John 1:14; 3:16-17)

He sent a Deliverer. He sent
Jesus.

JESUS IS THE DEPTH OF GOD'S LOVE

Destination points:
  1. When do I feel as if God has forgotten about me?
  2. How will I remind myself of God's faithfullnes this week?
  3. I will spend a few moments today thanking God for Jesus.
